Counselling for Children & Young People (CYP)

Snowford Grange counsellors provide a safe space where children and young people can openly discuss and navigate the issues impacting their lives. Our aim is to listen to and acknowledge each child’s lived experience, helping them to build self-esteem and confidence, and enabling them to reach their full potential. Through this nurturing environment, our counsellors are well-equipped to offer targeted support tailored to the unique needs of each child.

Providing targeted and developmentally appropriate support.

The Role of Schools in Supporting Mental Health & Well-being

Schools play a vital role in supporting the emotional well-being of children and young people. The education community increasingly recognises that addressing mental health is essential for pupils to thrive. Failing to tackle these issues at an early stage can prevent children from reaching their full potential and create barriers to learning, negatively impacting their lives in enduring ways.

How Can Snowford Grange Help?

Proven Experience with Schools

Supporting children and young people with their emotional and mental health has been at the heart of our organisation for over 15 years. We have an excellent proven track record in this field, as our wealth of positive testimonials demonstrates. If you choose Snowford Grange as your school’s counselling service, you’ll be in safe hands.

Our qualified and experienced counsellors bring their expertise to primary and secondary school settings, delivering more than 15,000 counselling hours annually within schools, including SEND provisions.

After an initial meeting to discuss the needs of your school, we will work with you to establish the counselling service; choosing the right counsellor, setting up systems of referral, obtaining parental consent, etc., ensuring all details are covered to provide a professional, efficient, and effective service.

Age Appropriate Support

Our counsellors have a thorough understanding of child development and utilise various therapeutic resources and interventions tailored to each child’s age, stage and needs.

Supporting Primary School Pupils - counsellors generally use play-based and resource-based techniques alongside talk therapy.

Supporting Secondary School Pupils - counsellors generally use resource-based techniques and talk therapy.

This targeted and developmentally appropriate support helps children and young people navigate daily challenges that impact their emotional well-being and learning capabilities. By offering timely and effective interventions, we aim to enhance resilience, foster self-esteem, and create a positive impact on both individual pupils and the overall school environment.

“We have been working with Snowford Grange for 9 years, and there is no doubt that they have had a demonstrable, positive impact on both individuals and the wider school community. It is a genuine pleasure to recommend Snowford Grange. Their support has empowered our students to tackle the increasingly wide range and complexity of issues they face, making a significant difference in the lives of our students and enhancing our whole-school approach to student well-being.”
