Counselling for School Staff

We provide school staff with a safe space to address personal and professional challenges, empowering them to navigate these issues effectively for their own well-being and that of the whole school community.

Delivering The Right Mental Health Support For Your Staff.

The Role of Schools in Supporting Mental Health & Well-being

Snowford Grange counsellors recognise how demanding and stressful working in a school environment can be. When combined with daily pressures and personal challenges, it’s understandable that staff can feel overwhelmed and mentally exhausted.

Delivering the right mental health support to staff during these challenging times is crucial, especially as Ofsted is keen to see how schools are prioritising the mental health and emotional well-being of their staff. By implementing effective support measures, schools can demonstrate their commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive working environment.

How Can You Support Your Staff Effectively?

First and foremost, staff need a safe space to discuss the issues affecting them and to feel supported and encouraged in navigating these challenges effectively. Engaging with a qualified and experienced counsellor or psychotherapist ensures that staff receive appropriate, targeted therapeutic support. This also provides them with the opportunity to speak in confidence with an unbiased professional who can help them manage these issues in a non-judgemental environment.

How Can Snowford Grange Help?

Proven Experience with Schools

We have over 15 years of experience working alongside primary and secondary schools, as well as SEND provisions, delivering over 15,000 counselling hours each year within school settings. Our team of qualified counsellors and psychotherapists understands the challenges schools face and their impact on staff mental well-being. We provide empathetic, accepting, and effective support, often through online counselling for convenience. This approach equips staff with the skills and confidence needed to bring about positive change that benefits their long-term well-being.

Our aim is to help ensure that:

  • Staff have a safe space to discuss their personal and professional issues.

  • Staff feel valued, supported, and encouraged.

  • Staff possess the skills to navigate challenges more effectively.

  • Staff can continue to make a positive contribution in their roles.

Finding the Right Practitioner

We have developed a diverse team of over 40 qualified and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists. This allows us to first assess your staff's needs—whether personal, professional, or a combination of both—and then match them with a practitioner who may have expertise in those areas. In our experience, finding the right counsellor to work effectively with your staff can significantly impact their long-term well-being.

A Flexible and Tailored Approach

We offer a customised approach to meet the unique needs and budgets of each school. By listening to your staff's requirements, we tailor our services accordingly. Whether your school needs a few hours of dedicated staff counselling each month, a more ad hoc arrangement, or a frequent service, our counsellors and psychotherapists are flexible and can adjust their availability as needed. To minimise disruption, sessions are often conducted online and scheduled outside school hours, ensuring staff can access support without interfering with their responsibilities.

“We have used Snowford Grange to support a large number of staff with a variety of both personal and professional challenges. The counselling services were professional, approachable and supportive - enabling staff to move forward positively over time. I would recommend Snowford Grange without hesitation.”
