See what our clients have to say about Snowford Grange…
“Warwick Senior School have been working with Snowford Grange for nearly 3 years and we are extremely happy with the services they provide to our boys. Emma (*please amend to the counsellor if you don’t want names) is able to quickly establish a rapport with the pupil (not always easy when working with teenage boys!) and is able to guide them through the process of counselling, helping them to think about what’s brought them to counselling and how they can best utilise their sessions to maximise impact. Emma is creative when the boys need it, using Lego, games, or even walking the wellbeing dog, to facilitate sessions in a way that makes the client comfortable. Over the years Snowford Grange have worked with us, they have supported countless pupils in achieving their academic potential by ensuring they feel emotionally safe and secure at school.”
Mrs Helen Leaf - Senior Mental Health Lead and SEN Specialist, Warwick School
Our workforce has grown significantly over recent years and we’ve seen an increase in staff and managers accessing our existing EAP provision. We approached Snowford Grange because we identified the need to provide a more personal, face-to-face counselling service for staff experiencing challenges impacting on their worklife. We were looking for an organisation we could work with in a three-way partnership – employee, counsellor and employer. We recognised the value in working with counsellors who understand our organisation and are aware of the context in which our employees work, who could then use these insights to shape the support they provide. In turn, feedback from the counselling sessions (agreed in advance with the individual) ensures that as an organisation we respond in the most effective way. HR and line managers appreciate being able to refer employees for a speedy intervention knowing we are accessing a high quality, professional service aimed at keeping the employee at work or supporting them to return to work in a timely manner. We’ve seen a reduction in our sickness absence rates as a result.
Feedback from staff accessing the service has been extremely positive. Steve and Helen build trusting relationships enabling them to ask challenging questions and arrive at workable solutions. In several cases, staff have attributed the help they received from Snowford as the main reason they have been able to continue to function effectively at work whilst going through a particularly difficult time. I would recommend the services of Snowford Grange to other organisations looking to offer a cost effective, results driven counselling service but wanting to stay informed and involved in the support provided.
Rachel Edmonds - Interim HR Director, Royal Shakespeare Company

His deep understanding of the issues faced within an educational setting is invaluable. The support he offers is not only practical but also grounded in a realistic understanding of the demands of the working world. “Our school has been incredibly fortunate to work with Snowford Grange Counselling and Psychotherapy Service, and the impact they have had on our children cannot be overstated. Their skilled and compassionate counsellor - Helen- has supported pupils of all ages with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, bereavement and mental health concerns. We have seen a real difference in the children who access the support. They come away feeling listened to, valued, and better equipped to manage their emotions. The service not only helps the children but also provides invaluable guidance to staff and parents, ensuring a consistent and nurturing approach to mental health and well-being. Having Helen as part of our school community has enriched our ability to care for the whole child, and we would highly recommend her service and that of Snowford Grange to any school looking to support their pupils' emotional well-being.”

“We have been working with Steve Goodrem as our School Counsellor for 9 years and there is no doubt that he has had a demonstrable, positive impact on both individuals and the wider school community in that time. As a vastly experienced professional, Steve has supported our students expertly, and with empathy. He has empowered them to tackle the increasingly wide range and complexity of issues they face whilst, importantly, also enabling them to build their own resilience and resourcefulness. In addition to the counselling of individual students, Steve has also been instrumental in providing our staff with guidance on pastoral care and mental health strategies, which has further strengthened our whole-school approach to student well-being. It is a genuine pleasure to recommend Steve Goodrem to you.”
Bennett Carr - Headmaster, King Edwards VI School (KES)
“Snowford Grange has been working with us to provide our counselling support for the past 6 years. Our pupils love the sessions they have with Steve, and both staff and parents notice the positive impact that his work has in empowering them with a toolkit of techniques to help them to cope with any issues or challenges they are facing. The strong partnership that has developed between Steve and school means that he is always available to offer additional advice and support to staff and parents, for both the children he sees for one-to-one sessions but also, when needed, the wider school community. As a result, Steve has become an invaluable part of our enhanced pastoral provision.”
Heather Mellor - Deputy Head teacher, Warwick Junior school

“I have worked with Snowford Grange and Helen Webb for over 20 years and the positive impact their counselling has had on so many children is immeasurable. Aside from their highly professional approach and flexibility in supporting with our children, the counsellors we work with are enormous valued by children and staff for the skill and insight they bring to this critical part of school life. Parents feel highly supported by Helen and this provision is key to our ‘team around the child’ approach. Whatever your counselling needs, I recommend Snowford Grange to you wholeheartedly.”
Hellen Dodsworth - Head Mistress, Warwick Prep School
“We've been working with Steve and the team at Snowford Grange Counselling for over five years and look forward to continuing working with them going forward. The children respond well to the counselling sessions, and we have a waiting list of families who want to use the service. The children are supported throughout the process and are made to feel at ease. The Counsellor brings in games to play with the children whilst she's talking through their feelings. The team not only supports the children they offer support to our staff. We arrange for termly check-ins for our DSL team to offer reflective supervision to talk through challenging case work and support for staff who may be struggling with issues in or outside of work. We feel that the support being offered helps all staff involved and helps to reduce potential staff absences. Staff all feel supported through the process and know that it's confidential. I don't know how Steve manages to remember everything as he's not writing notes or recording the sessions, but he remembers conversations we've had months if not years before! I can't praise the services enough.”
Becky Harrison - School Business Manager, Park Hill Junior School
“As a headteacher of 12 years I have been witness to the incredible impact that Snowford Grange has had on my schools and the pupils with whom I work. It has also been transformative for staff who always come back to me with the highest of praise for the counselling they have received. Staff absences have been dramatically reduced because teachers and teaching assistants have had the option of accessing highly qualified, exceptional counsellors. Children have been far more likely to self regulate or to manage anxiety having accessed play therapy where they are supported with strategies that they can use when they are facing challenges. The communication between school and Snowford Grange is fantastic. Parents, pupils and staff are all part of the picture and we all work together to ensure that each child has a positive time at home and at school. It helps pupils and staff to develop a voice of empowerment and to develop a self awareness that gives them the confidence and self respect to make better decisions.”
Joanne Herrero - Headteacher, Holy Trinity C of E Primary School
